You happen like the sun
a parabolic arch of nuclear rage
comin' my way
I listen when they whisper,
I've heard what they say about you,
Sahara
You bury cities of gold
With hourglass threats
Grain by grain
Holding grudges until it rains
I hate how you blow by without a sound,
Sahara
Is that me you're trying so hard to bury,
under a snow-globe sky?
I hate how you blow by without a sound,
Sahara
Sahara

Magnetic Moment

I wonder if you're pretty and strong-headed, if you're caring and not just lip-serving, if you have ethics and morals and are militant about it? If you're clumsy or careless or cautious or graceful? If you stress on the meaningless or strive for awareness? If I can teach you or you can teach me or if you know it all, already?
I tried to say
I need you like envelopes need letters
I tried to say
I need you like glue needs glitter
I'll tell you a secret
You are magnetic
And I'm starting to wonder if I'm more than just a moment
I wonder if you take pressure and fold or stand your ground, if you know that conceding is compromising and every compromise chips you into dust? If you're self-less or self-ish or narcissistically self-confident? If you demand perfection or if you see the beauty in error? If you think everything at all is the answer to iron-fisted religious terror?
I tried to write
That letter in invisible ink,
I tried to say
Honey, it doesn't matter what you think
I'll tell you a secret
You are magnetic
And I'm starting to wonder if I'm more than just a moment

Kabloona

Time has arrived for our departure
There's so much I could say
But I'd sooner taste iron on my tongue than get carried away
It's all blurring together
I think I'm finally feeling better,
Out on my own
Out on the waves
Out on my own
At midnight, under the midnight sun
I wanna hear you go on and on and on
Kabloona!
I want to be like you, someday, please
Kabloona!
Radio me, tell me what you can see?
I wanna hear you go on and on and on
If I were the weather,
In a storm I'd find you
In a drought I'd thirst you
In a heat wave I'd change the jet stream
In a monsoon I'd dry you off
But there's nothing I can do about the breakers in Repulse Bay
I wanna hear you go on and on and on

Among Giants

Hand me a string to follow your philosophy
Perseverance is a word nobody teaches,
as if to know its meaning is to quit
Can't you read the writing on the wall?
When did you get so far ahead,
Looking up, up, up?
You've got a gift for everything
The hero in me needs a bit of urgency
The voices in my head scream "imposter!"
Fuckin' irrational, I know I know I know
Everybody knows how to talk
But only giants are the ones who walk
I don't want to look up no more
I don't want to look up no more
I'm tired of looking up,
I'm tired
I'm tired
I want to walk among the giants
